It would appear that if John McCain wins every state where he is leading big, narrowly leading, tied, or within 8 points of Obama, he will barely win the Presidency, whereas if Obama holds his big lead states and manages to win one of the close states, he'll win - and he's ahead in most of the battleground states.
I'm not ready to call the election yet - we haven't had a real October surprise, have we? - but it's looking less competitive than the last couple of go rounds.

You are correct about the latte sippers. As you know, my wife is from Seattle. She likes to watch the first quarters of games cheering that the game is so close. By the second, it is already out of reach. She sent in her resume to take over for Willingham. I hope she gets the job and I get to be her linebackers coach.
